Block Apps, Domains, and IP Addresses
The Block List stops only the apps and destinations you choose. It stays active in Allow All and Require Approval modes, and it can add stricter rules in Block All mode.
Choose an app or one of its destinations, then add it to the Block List.
1. Benefits
- ✅ Stop one app from reaching the internet.
- ✅ Block only one domain or IP address used by an app.
- ✅ Use a wildcard such as
*.example.comfor every subdomain. - ✅ Keep normal traffic working in Allow All mode.
- ✅ Review and remove rules from one Block List.
- ✅ Create unlimited block rules with TinyShield PRO.
2. Block an item from the connection list
- Find the app in the main TinyShield window.
- Expand the app when you want to block only one destination.
- Right-click the app, domain, or IP address.
- Select Add to Block List.
- Make the connection again and confirm that its status is blocked.
Blocking the app stops all network connections created by that app. Blocking a domain or IP address keeps the rest of the app online.
3. Manage the Block List
- Open Tools → Block List, or use the Block List button in the app.
- Turn on Block List if it is off.
- Review rules for apps, domains, wildcard domains, and IP addresses.
- Add a rule manually when the destination has not appeared in the main list.
- Remove a rule to allow matching connections again.
Use the narrowest rule that solves the problem. An app rule is simple but may stop sign-in, updates, syncing, and other needed features.
4. Test a new rule
- Close and reopen the affected app, or retry the action that creates traffic.
- Search for the app or destination in TinyShield.
- Confirm that the matching row is marked as blocked.
- Remove or narrow the rule if the app loses more access than expected.
